1 (Anarcho-Simplifier): Why do you think you need money?
2 (Law & Debt Slave): To pay for the things I need.
1: Yes, but why do you need to pay for things?
2: So that those I pay to provide me with those things can pay to provide the things they need for themselves.
1: Good. And what if you could acquire the things you need without money?
2: Then they’d be free.
1: Yes. Free. Pay attention to that word. And what if nobody had to pay for anything to get what they needed?
2: Then everything would be free.
1: Would you agree that the definition of enslaving is forcing others to work for you and stealing the products of their labor?
2: Yes.
1: Do you know what debt is?
2: Yes, I do.
1: And do you know what indentured servitude is?
2: Yes, it’s when you’re enslaved to repay debts that can’t otherwise be paid.
1: OK. Now what if I told you that all money is debt?
2: What?
1: All money is debt. I mean, who benefits from creating the money you use? The people who create it. Every dollar you circulate — most of them now exist electronically — is debt. Whether it’s debt you owe those who can provide you with things you need or debt you owe to the money creators, it’s debt. And if you buy and sell with debt, all you’re ever going to have is debt. You can’t escape such debt if you use money.
2: I’m confused.
1: Let me put it to you this way. What do you feel you owe to the people who create money so you can use it to buy things?
2: I don’t know.
1: You don’t owe them anything. They print or electronically manufacture money out of nothing so they can own you with debt. And you can’t repay money that is debt with more money that is debt. It’s a form of slavery, my friend. Indentured servitude to be exact. Didn’t you agree that anything that doesn’t cost money is free?
2: Yes.
1: And why do you think it’s called that? If everything you or anyone else needed was free or could be created for free, would you need money?
2: No, I guess not.
1: So, let me ask you again: Why do you think you need money?
2: Apparently I don’t, but it’s the law.
1: And why do you think you need the law?
2: To protect the community at large from criminals.
1: Isn’t money enslaving, as I’ve just explained, and isn’t enslaving a crime?
2: Yes, enslaving is a crime.
1: Do you think, if everyone could acquire or create absolutely everything they needed, including love or treatments for health problems that could lead to criminal behavior such as mental illness or starvation, for free, that they’d even bother committing crimes in the first place?
2: No, I guess they wouldn’t.
1: So aren’t the law and government rather pointless if no one is committing crime?
2: Well, what if another country attacks us? We need their protection.
1: Well, what if every country in the world could acquire or create absolutely everything they needed for free? Would they commit the crime of attacking you if that were the case? Would they need the law, government, or money?
2: I guess not.
1: See, this is what an anarchist knows to be true. Anarchy means freedom and equality for all. Anarchy means no money, no laws, no government, no hierarchy—none of it. Anything that limits the freedom of the world to acquire or create anything it needs, responsibly and for free, is unnecessarily enslaving. Does anarchy sound appealing to you now?
2: I guess it does.
1: I knew it would because, believe it or not, I actually want what’s best for everyone and everything. And we all need it badly.
2: Yes we do.
1: So it’s only a matter of time, I think, until anarchism spreads without limits.
2: Why hasn’t it always been there in the first place?
